The Leaper is a large, terrifying spider-like ARC. Unlike the slow walkers, this enemy is highly mobile. It is heavily armored and built for one thing: getting in your face. It can jump huge distances to close the gap or climb up to high roofs where you think you are safe.
Threat Level: High. It is deadly in close quarters and can wipe a squad if they are not careful.
The Jump: As the name says, it leaps. It can jump across streets or up to the top of buildings to land directly on top of you.
Melee Strike: Once it lands, it uses its sharp legs to stab and slash for high damage.
Kinetic Blast: This is the surprise attack. Periodically, it releases a shockwave of kinetic energy. This blast shreds your shields instantly and knocks you back.
Kill it with Fire: The Leaper is weak to heat. Blaze Grenades or fire-based weapons are "super effective." Fire bypasses some of its armor and causes panic.
Shoot the Legs: Its armor is thick, but the leg joints are vulnerable. If you shoot the joints, you can "break" a leg, which slows it down significantly and stops it from jumping.
The Eye: Like many ARCs, the glowing eye is a weak spot, but it moves fast so it is hard to hit.
Keep Distance: Never let it get close. If it jumps at you, run away. Fighting a Leaper in a small room is a death sentence.
Teamwork: One player should "bait" the jump while the others shoot it from the side with Heavy Ammo.
Like the Rocketeer and Surveyor, the Leaper is a "Loot Piñata." You get loot from the main body and from the pieces you shoot off during the fight.

Can I dodge the Kinetic Blast? It is an Area of Effect (AOE) attack around the Leaper. The only way to dodge it is to be far away. If you see it charging up (glowing/vibrating), sprint backward immediately.
What does the "Leaper Pulse Unit" do? This is a rare tech item dropped by the Leaper. It is used to craft high-level mobility gadgets (like jump boosters) or kinetic energy weapons. It is one of the most sought-after items in the game.
Does it take fall damage? No. The Leaper is designed to land from high jumps. You cannot kill it by making it fall off a roof.
Is it faster than a Raider? In a straight line? Yes. You cannot outrun it just by sprinting. You have to use verticality (jump pads, ziplines) or break its line of sight to escape.
Why is my shotgun not working? If you are shooting the main body plate, your pellets are bouncing off. You have to aim for the joints (knees) or the eye. Or better yet, throw a fire grenade first to soften it up.
