Sentinels are large, static defense turrets. They are much bigger than the indoor turrets and are designed to guard important locations and loot areas. You usually find them outside, sitting on top of buildings, high ledges, or towers.
Appearance: They look like a big gun on a swivel mount. Even though they look scary and deal high damage, they are actually unarmored machines. However, they have a lot of health, so you still need to be smart about how you fight them.
The Sentinel is basically a sniper.
Movement Tracing: It tracks you if you are in its line-of-sight. You will see it turning to follow you.
The Shot: It fires a single Heavy round. It does not shoot fast like the small turrets, but the shot hits very hard. If you get hit, you lose a massive chunk of health.
The Yellow Capsule: This is the secret to killing them fast. There is a small yellow capsule attached to the swiveling arm of the turret. If you shoot this spot, it deals critical damage.
Ammo Choice: Because they are big, using Medium or Heavy rounds (like DMRs, Snipers, or LMGs) is much more efficient than using small pistols.
Break Line of Sight: If it spots you, hide! Use the terrain (rocks, walls, buildings) to block its view. Wait for it to look away before you peek again.
Sentinels are one of the best sources for high-tier crafting materials and heavy ammo.

Can I destroy a Sentinel with a grenade? It is difficult. Because Sentinels are usually placed high up on ledges or roofs, it is hard to throw a grenade that high. It is better to use a long-range weapon to shoot the yellow capsule.
Does the Sentinel respawn? In some missions, if you leave the area and come back, enemies might respawn. But generally, once you clear a Sentinel from a roof, that area is safe for a while so you can loot in peace.
What is the "Sentinel Firing Core" used for? This is a rare part specific to this enemy. You usually need it to craft heavy weapon upgrades or special augmentations. Always check the loot bag after you destroy one!
Can it see me if I am crouching? Sentinels have very good vision range because they are high up. Crouching behind low cover helps, but if you are out in the open field, crouching wont save you. You need hard cover like a wall.
Why is my damage so low? If you are shooting the main metal body or the legs, you are wasting ammo. You really need to aim for that yellow capsule on the side/arm. It makes a huge difference in how fast they die.
