The Snitch is a small, flying scout drone. You can recognize it easily because it has 3 rotors (propellers) and flies around slowly. It is unarmored and very weak. It does not want to fight you; its only job is to watch the area.
Behavior: It patrols around looking for players. If you see a drone with three blades hovering near a loot spot, that is a Snitch. You have to decide quick: hide or shoot it immediately.
The Snitch has no weapons. It cannot shoot you. However, it is still very dangerous because of its special ability:
The Alarm: If it sees a Raider, it starts an alarm sequence.
Reinforcements: If the alarm goes off, it calls for backup. Usually, a wave of flying ARCs will spawn to attack you. This wave consists of 2 Wasps and 1 Hornet.
The Threat: The Snitch itself is easy, but the Hornet and Wasps it calls are annoying and waste your ammo.
Very Fragile: It has extremely low health. One or two bullets from almost any gun will destroy it.
Stealth is Key: The best way to deal with a Snitch is to avoid being spotted. If you stay behind cover or crouch, it might just fly past you.
Kill Priority: If you decide to shoot, you must kill it fast. Do not miss. If you damage it but don't kill it instantly, it might panic and trigger the alarm before it dies.
Silencers: If you have a suppressed weapon, use it. Loud noises might attract other enemies even if you kill the Snitch.
The Snitch drops some useful tech parts, especially sensors.
Snitch Scanner (Unique item)
Experience Points:
Destroy: 100 XP
Loot: 200 XP (Easy XP if you can aim well!)
What is the "Snitch Scanner"? This is a unique loot item dropped only by this drone. You can use Snitch Scanners in crafting recipes that involve detection or radar tech. It is a good item to keep.
Can I stop the alarm once it starts? You have a split second. When it spots you, it usually makes a noise or lights up before the actual reinforcements spawn. If you destroy it during that split second, you might get lucky and stop the wave from coming. But usually, once it sees you, it's too late.
Do Snitches spawn indoors? They are mostly found outdoors patrolling streets or ruins, but sometimes they can fly into large open warehouses. They rarely go into small rooms or corridors.
What happens if I ignore it? If you let it live and it sees you, you will have to fight the Hornet and Wasps. The Hornet is a much tougher flying enemy that shoots rockets or heavy lasers. It is much better to just kill the Snitch silently than to fight the backup team.
Does a Snitch alert nearby ground enemies? Its main job is to call the flying backup (Wasps/Hornet), but the noise of the battle will definitely attract any Ticks or Walkers nearby. So yes, getting spotted usually leads to a big mess.
