Ticks are small ARCs that look like spiders. They are very annoying enemies that jump and attach to players, doing damage over time. To get them off, you have to hold the action key a few times, let a teammate shoot it, or use the Looting MK. 2 Augment (this makes them fall off automatic after 1 second).
Where to find Ticks: You usually find them in dark places inside buildings or bunkers. Look at the walls and ceilings, they like to hide there. They spawn in groups of 2 or 3 usually. They have very low health and don't have armor or limbs you can shoot off. Most guns can kill them in just one shot.
Before they attack, a Tick will wait for about 1 second then jump on you. If it lands, you get stuck in a animation and cant move while taking damage.
Audio Cue: They make a high pitch noise when leaping.
Movement: If they miss the jump, they crawl around the floor really fast.
No Armor: You can use any ammo type to kill them, even when they are in the air.
Melee is Best: Use a melee weapon to hit them quick so you don't waste bullets.
Shoot First: Try to shoot them before they get close. Listen for the noise!
Teamwork: If a Tick latch onto you, tell your team to shoot it off fast.

Help! The button to remove the Tick is NOT working. Is it a bug? This is a common issue! If you are standing too close to loot or a door, the game might think you are trying to open that instead of removing the Tick. Move away from any items into an open space and hold the action key again. It should work then.
Where is the best place to farm Ticks for the "Destroy Ticks" trial? If you need to kill a lot of them for a quest, go to the Spaceport or the big buildings in Buried City. You have to actually go inside the rooms—they don't spawn outside. Check the corners of the ceiling in dark rooms; you can usually find 10+ in one run if you look hard.
Do Ticks explode when they die? Yes, sort of. If a Tick latches on you and you don't remove it, it will eventually self-destruct and do big damage. But if you shoot it while it is jumping or on the floor, it just pops. It looks like an explosion, but it does not hurt you if you shoot it first.
What should I do with "Damaged Tick Pods"? Sometimes you will loot a "Damaged Tick Pod" instead of a normal one. Don't throw it away! You can recycle these at the crafting station to get ARC Alloy. It’s not as good as a full pod, but it’s still free materials.
Can I dodge a Tick attack? Yes. You will hear a high pitch noise right before they jump. The best trick is the "sidestep." When you hear the scream, wait 0.5 seconds and then dodge sideways. The Tick cannot turn in mid-air. It will land behind you and pause for a second—that is your free chance to melee it.
