The "A Lay Of The Land" quest in ARC Raiders is a mission given by Shani that forces you to run all over the Spaceport map. Honestly, this one is kinda stressful because you have to do every single step in one round. If you die halfway through, you basically have to start over, which is super annoying. In this guide, I’m gonna show you exactly where to go so you don’t waste time wandering around getting shot at.

First off, you need to load into the Spaceport map. Since this mission is a "one life" type of deal, you should probably bring a decent loadout. If you have a Safe Pocket, definitely make sure it's empty so you can shove the quest item in there later. That way if you get taken out by a Raider at the end, you might not lose the item.

Your first stop is the Jiangsu Warehouse. It's located on the top-left (northwest) edge of the map, kinda near the Fuel Depot. It’s usually not too crazy there, so you can breathe for a sec. Once you are inside, head upstairs and look for the foreman’s office. It's the room with windows looking out over the warehouse floor. You will find the shipping notes sitting right on the desk. Interact with them and you are done with this part.

Now comes the hard part. You have to trek all the way to Control Tower A6, which is right in the middle of the map near the Launch Platform. Be careful cause this place is usually swarming with drones and other players. You don’t need to go to the roof (thank god). Instead, go inside and head up the stairs or zipline to the upper floor. Turn right and look for a little office area with those office dividers/partitions. Behind the dividers, there is a metal box or crate. Open it and grab the LiDAR Scanner. Make sure you actually pick it up and put it in your inventory!

Okay, you got the notes and the scanner. Now you just need to leave. Check your map for the closest extraction point and get there fast. If you die with the scanner in your backpack (and not a safe pocket), you fail and have to do it all again. Once you extract safely, just hand the scanner over to Shani in the menu to finish the job.
