In ARC Raiders Dam Battlegrounds is usually the first map that new raiders will encounter. The terrain is mostly swamps, drained lakes and old rusted machinery. It is a dangerous place but it holds a lot of history and valuable loot if you know where to look. The main landmark here is the Alcantara Power Plant, also known as The Dam. It stands like a silent sentinel over the waterlogged lands.
History and The Sunrise Era This map was once the center of the Sunrise era. after the Collapse the planet started to heal and settlers gathered around the dormant Alcantara Dam. It was a time of optimism where people rediscovered old tech and built organized societies. They even constructed Hydroponic Domes to grow food and used solar panels for energy. They thought the worst was behind them until the machines came down from the skies.
The First Wave When the ARC machines attacked it started the First Wave war. The settlers here banded together to form the first Raiders. They defeated the ARC but the cost was high. The Dam became a shell-scarred battleground and most of their tech was destroyed. This is why everyone eventually moved underground to cities like Toledo and Speranza.
Looting the Domes Today the area is a hot spot for ARC skirmishes. The Hydroponic Domes are still there but the roofs are shattered. You can find data archives inside that talk about experiments to grow resilient wheat. Even though the land is toxic and full of enemies, raiders still come here because the research buildings and the Dam structure itself are reliable sources of loot. just watch out for the wandering machines. check the table below for the map events you need to prepare for.
