Fireballs are small ARC machines that look like a ball. They move by rolling on the ground. Unlike Ticks or Pops, the Fireball is heavily armored. It has a hard shell that protects it from bullets. Its main weapon is a flamethrower, so it is very dangerous at close range.
Behavior: You will usually see them rolling around slowly on patrol. When they see a player, they speed up to get into close range. They are smarter than Pops—they won't just suicide, they try to burn you alive.
The Flamethrower: The Fireball has only one attack. It gets close to you, stops rolling, and opens its front metal plates. Then it shoots a stream of fire that does high continuous damage.
The "Peek": Before it shoots, it must open its armor. This takes about 0.5 seconds. That is your window to attack.
Wait for the Open: This is the most important tip. If you shoot the Fireball while it is rolling and closed, your bullets will bounce off the armor (blue damage numbers). You must wait until it opens its face to shoot fire.
Shoot the Core: When the panels open, you will see a glowing orange/red core. Shoot that spot! It takes massive critical damage.
Keep Distance: Since they use a flamethrower, they have short range. If you stay far away, they cant hurt you.
Flanking: If you are playing with a team, have one person distract it. When it turns to burn them, the back might still be armored, but sometimes you can get a lucky angle on the side.
Fireballs are great for farming high-tech parts.

Why am I doing 0 damage to the Fireball? You are probably shooting the armor plating. Fireballs are "invulnerable" to small arms fire when they are closed up. You have to wait for them to attack you, or use heavy explosives to break the armor.
What is the "Fireball Burner" used for? This is a specific loot drop unique to this enemy. You need Fireball Burners to craft fire-based gadgets and weapons at the crafting station. It is a very valuable item, so always loot the wreck!
Can I run away from the fire? Yes, but don't run backwards in a straight line. The flame has a long reach. It is better to sprint sideways or jump over an obstacle. The Fireball cannot turn very fast once it starts spraying fire.
Does water or smoke stop the Fireball? Smoke grenades can confuse them and make them lose target lock, which buys you time to reload or run. However, water does not stop them from shooting.
What is the best weapon to kill them? Shotguns and SMGs are risky because you have to be close. The best weapon is an Assault Rifle or DMR. You can stand just outside their fire range, aim at the center, and wait for them to open up. One good burst to the core usually kills them instantly.
