Turrets are static defense units mostly found inside buildings. They are small, unarmored guns mounted on walls or ceilings that rotate to scan the room. Their job is to protect narrow corridors and loot rooms.
Crucial Distinction: Do not confuse this enemy with the Sentinel.
Turret: Small, unarmored, found indoors on walls. Easy to kill.
Sentinel: Huge, heavily armored, found outdoors on towers. Very hard to kill.
The Scan: They constantly rotate 180 degrees. They emit a visible laser or light cone scanning for movement.
Rapid Fire: As soon as they spot a Raider, they lock on and fire a fast "hail of bullets."
Suppression: If you hide behind cover, the Turret will continue firing at your "last known location" for a few seconds to keep you pinned down.
Extremely Fragile: They have no armor. You can destroy them with almost any weapon. A single well-placed shot from a revolver or DMR is often enough.
Blind Spots: Because they are mounted on walls, they often have blind spots directly underneath them or to the far sides.
Peek and Shoot: Don't try to trade damage. Peek out from a doorway, shoot once, and duck back.
Listen: You can usually hear the mechanical "whirring" sound of the turret rotating before you enter a room.
Turrets are a great source of basic ammo and gun parts.

Can I hack the Turret to fight for me? Currently, you cannot hack Turrets to make them friendly. You just have to destroy them. However, sometimes you can lure other enemies into the Turret's line of fire, though it will prioritize shooting you.
Do EMP grenades work on Turrets? Yes! A Shock Grenade or EMP blast will instantly disable the Turret for a short time. This is perfect if there are 2 or 3 of them in one room and you can't peek safely.
Can I melee a Turret? Technically yes, if you can get close enough without dying. But since they are usually mounted high on the wall or ceiling, they are often out of melee reach. It is safer to just shoot them.
Why did the Turret see me through smoke? Turrets use motion sensors and thermal scans. While smoke helps, if you are sprinting or making noise, they might still track your general location and spray bullets there.
What is the best weapon to farm them? You don't need a heavy weapon. Use a Pistol or SMG to save your valuable heavy ammo for bigger ARCs. One or two bullets is all it takes.
